Hi,
Can anybody clarify if my burner is original?
I recently (re)bought my dream bike from my childhood. A MK1 tuff burner with alloy hub skyways and two hole Gusset in frame, I have also checked the serial number which is on the down tube and it dates frame to Sept 83, however, frame has a “carbospec” sticker on inside of downtube rather than the “Raleigh TI” sticker, does this mean it has been subject to a restore at some point? Or is it possible for a MK1 with rear loop stays etc to have a carbospec sticker? Also has crossmax pedals rather than the rat trap ones my old bike had. I want it to be original 1983 spec so help appreciated.
Cheers.

The MK1 Burner does have the 'carbospec' decal on the seat post tube....its the MK2 Burners that have the 'Raleigh TI' decals (if I remember rightly.I am a little rusty on my 'specs' as i've been out of the building game for a number of years know)...

Regarding the pedals....again off the top of my head i'm not too sure what spec pedals the MK Tuff burners have without looking into my archive material....

Russ....
