If you happen to stumble across this forum and have somehow missed the news on the Burner Facebook groups, Raleigh UK have announced that they are releasing an all new 35th Anniversary Team Aero Pro Burner!

Limited to 350, these will be completely new bikes, different (and hopefully better) than the 25th Anni TAP from 2007. Release date is sometime this July - 2017, a register of interest page is imminent on the Raleigh website.

The frame/fork is being made by Tange in Taiwan (no longer the same Japanese based company as its 80s heyday but still...) which is also where the bike will be painted & assembled.

This bike will also have handlebars made to the same angles as the original Tioga(?) AP bars with 23deg back sweep, 6deg up sweep. The bars on the 25th Anni Tap were generally regarded as the most disappointing feature so these should be a vast improvement.

So ...£500 will get you:

Full 4130 Tange cro-mo frame/fork

Powerstem type 4 bolt stem.

Skyway Tuff2 with Shimano freewheel & Tioga skinwall 1.75" Comp3

Raleigh Kashimax Aero seat, Dia-compe hinged seat clamp

Dia-Compe MX-1000 calipers & Tech3 levers

Raleigh Tange shape grips.

Chrome one piece crank with silver spider & black 44t chainring

One of our BW members Retro Rich 78 loaned Raleigh his TAP survivor for reference & also Steve (esemdesign) has helped with the frame/padset artworks. So I presume that means it might also come with a Team Padset! Fingers crossed.

What a fun year this could be... 8-)

Iwould have hoped this bike was an up to date version of the old bike ala Re-issue PK Ripper, As for me it's about the reissues riding well. There is no comparison between my 2008 PK Ripper and my Boxfresh Anniversary.
