I got given this a few years back and have just started putting it all back together - never had a BMX before and thought it'd be good to have a play on. Just wondered if anyone can ID it and tell me an approx year of manufacture? Think it's a fairly recent model and cheap but I can't find any other info on it anywhere. Apologies for the crap pics.

Has a Raleigh crest on the front and 'burner' transfer on the frame..... all looks fairly original.

Did Raleigh buy in a load of generic frames in and badge them up with the burner brand to try and shift them??? Or was there a market in producing fakes?

Cheers?

I think someone has just re-decal'd this new school bike. As dwab4 says above it really isn't a Raleigh Burner.

People do all sorts of odd things with decals on old and new school bikes. You'll probably spot Raleigh Mk2 Burners (with the R cut-out on rear and fork dropouts) with Skyway TA decals as it has a "similar" oval/aero tubed frameset. Be careful out there... ;-)
