super tuff- 08-17-2008
bmx fan newcomer
hi all, ive been meaning to reg on this site for ages, everytime i run a google search for burner info this site is always up there in the top listings well you asked for a bit about myself... im 35 years old lad from cardiff, amazingly i didnt own a bmx at all when i was a kid, my mum brought us 5 kids up and we struggled, yeah im not too proud to say we were poor, dont get me wrong we didnt starve but expensive super tuff burners on the santa wish list were a no no it was age 14 when i bought my own 1st bike, i paid for it myself with work i had done, it was a trackstar bmx in chrome, never seen one of those since but it was mine, most of the guys still had there burners and i felt a bit left out on a different bike but hey i was now an official rider. soon after i bought more bikes from the likes of bootsales and salvation army sales, i bought a ironhorse bmx, a mongoose calif, and what i think to this day was a haro freestyler judging by the frame i looked up on the net years later, it was a dumped bike i found in the lanes, it was stripped with no markings, but looking at pics of haros im sure it was one. also my grea-*test*-('") ever find todate was a kuwahara laserlite, found dumped in a skip  sadly i kind of grew out of the bikes i had got into then so late on in my childhood, i sold them at the same type of sales i had found them and yeah yeah im wishing i had never done that now :( a few years ago i suddenly got the bug, me a 35 year old man lol, it didnt make a difference as i also collect tv related vintage toys and games so i looked at it as a collectible oppertunity, in just over a year i know have 3 tuff mk1's, 1 super burner mk1, and a falcon pro 1 of the tuffs is a total nos restoration job, but im finding it very expensive, i have the frame, forks and handle bars powder coated in the right colours, i have bought various nos bits bobs from greedebay but its very slow going now, i just bought a nos pair of blue tyres for it but i dont have any mint skyways to put them on yet, ive been so tempted to lend a set from my other bikes but it would just look rubbish with faded or cracked mags on it. hoping to buy more bmx for my collection, the burners i want and will try and buy this and next year are, night, extra, burner mk1, ultra, super tuff vintage and new anyways sorry to blab on, im glad to here and will now go for a good look around, cheers
